Age Concern Ledbury & District was established in 1992. In 2008 we became a company limited by guarantee, registered in England & Wales. (Registered No. 6449761)

From our offices in 38 Bye Street we provide a wide range of services to the over 50's of Ledbury town and the surrounding parishes including Ashperton, Aylton, Bishops Frome, Bosbury, Bromsberrow Heath, Canon Frome, Castle Frome, Coddington, Colwall, Cradley, Donnington, Eastnor, Eggleton, Fownhope, Little Marcle, Mathon, Much Marcle, Munsley, Pixley, Putley, Stretton Grandison, Stoke Edith, Tarrington, Wellington Heath, Woolhope and Yarkhill.

We have a small team of part time staff and volunteers who endeavour to provide a fast and friendly service.  Our volunteers generously give their time and without them we wouldn't be able to continue helping older people in the local community. In 2006/7 we dealt with 3669 enquiries from 1393 clients. In 2007/8 this grew to 4766 enquiries from 2283 clients, an average of 20 a day, and an increase of 64% from the previous year.

As the need for our services grows, we always need more people to help us and more funding to develop our work. You are welcome to become part  of Age Concern Ledbury & District either as a Member, a volunteer or donor. And we also would like to hear from you if you would be interested in joining our Board of Directors.

We receive very small amounts of funding from the statutory sector and no financial support from Age Concern England other than through grants for which we have to compete every year, along with many others.

Funding through grants can never keep up with the demand for services and we always need more financial support - especially for our core activities which are the unglamorous 'background' bits such as administration and quality monitoring of all the projects we run.
