Age concern Hereford was established in May 1988. Today we have 187 volunteers, provide information and advice to older people, and offer practical help through day centres, basic DIY and gardening, social activities, home visits and transport. Another important role is to help people unlock the potential of their old age. Older people today are not just living longer but are remaining activie for far longer and are able to tackle the problems they will face when armed with the information they need.
Our organisation covers Hereford City and the rural areas of South Herefordshire. We work in conjunction with many other organisations, both charitable and statutory, in order to fill gaps in provision and to avoid duplication of effort and resources.
Age Concern Hereford (City and Rural) provide the following services:-
Whatever your age or circumstances, Age concern is working to help you make the most of life when you're older. Our dedicated volunteers help us provide care and opportunities for older people in Herefordshire. We campaign on matters that affect everyone as they age.
